Packaging

It is important to make sure your cargo is correctly packed considering that the long distances covered from UK to chosen destinations.

Clients are advised not to pack too many items into single box; recommended maximum weight for a carton by many shipping lines is maximum of 30kgs. It is wiser to split cartons into smaller sizes than using one single large one full of contents.

Packaging Dimensions

The recommended maximum dimensions per parcel are 120cm x 88cm x 120cm. Please note that if the cargo or parcel is large but lightweight, its is priced according to its volumetric weight rather than its its actual weight. For example, a large TV packaged in a box with following dimensions Length 130cm, Width 32cm and Height 104cm, with weight of 34kgs, will be priced under the weight of 72kgs instead of 34kgs because the dimensions are equivalent of 72kgs.

The problem with overloaded cartons is that they easily split open and could result in the loss of cargo.

Electrical Equipment

Electrical equipment such as TVs, Radios, Computers are better in their original boxes if they are still available. Try also use bubble wrap, polystyrene chips, etc to protect these goods when being transported.

Pallets are also used to allow secure transportation of goods, usually well for clients with larger shipments when using Rocklane Freight containers.
